Is Michael Gove Auditioning For A Role In A Knight's Tale
Whilst we are talking about Tory front benchers who remind us of Hollywood film characters, I do have to say listening to Shadow Education Secretary Michael Gove got me thinking when he said something like this following Cameron's speech:"That is the best speech of Cameron's career - possibly the best Conference speech ever given. Gordon Brown does not have the judgement and the intellect to be equal to the problems that lie ahead."
Putting aside the absolutely laughable claim that that was the "best conference speech ever" when it was nowhere even Cameron's best Conference speech - I suppose Cameron would think Osborne's speech from earlier in the week would be better anyway - it did remind me of the character from A Knight's Tale, evil Count Adhemar of Anjou.
"You have been weighed. You have been measured. And you have been found wanting...In what world could you have ever beaten me?"
It's spooky.
It's all yours to lose now Michael Gove. And I am sure you remember what happened to Adhemar, don't you?
