Tories Secure Shock Victory
Remember the inter-parliamentary rounders tournament that was cancelled the other week?Perhaps you were doing something more interesting like washing your hair, but anyway, the rescheduled games took place yesterday in Hyde Park.
Of course had the event been held in Windsor in the first place, there would never have been a washout given the record temperatures they have been experiencing there recently. ;-)
Full match reports are available here on the Edelman Despatch Box Blog - that's Edelman not Elderman, remember.
So it seems the Tories with Captain Tim Collins (not to be confused with Colonel Tim Collins) won after crushing all opposition - whereas Labour finished last after a disappointing display. Let's hope that isn't a metaphor for politics, eh?
Just remember, whilst it is annoying to see a bunch of Tories (pictured above) gloating about winning something, at least the Lib Dems didn't win for a fourth year in a row. Could you imagine the bar charts they would have created?

Also nice to see the reappearance of the Tories' eccentricly dressed Marcus Walker - Man of The Match two years ago (sadly losing out last year to his Tory friend, pictured with Marcus here) but apparently left in charge of the nibbles table dressed as a vicar this year.
Any of you now linking the image of a Tory surrounding himself with a table full of fatty nibbles, champagne bottle in hand, whilst watching others play sport with this recent story, should be ashamed of yourselves. ;-)

Marcus is leaving Parliament soon to become a priest, so I guess the vicar's garb was him getting into the habit.
(sorry)
Surely he would be getting into the habit if he were a monk?
Sounds more like cassocks to me. ;-)
