Peering Into The Future of Tory Health Plans?

I don't know, you go away for a few days and the Tories invent a new way to implode in the meantime. It's just like the old days.
Anyone who thought that Dave Cameron and his Tory chums were really committed to the NHS must really be having a laugh. He may claim that the Tories can sum up their health policy in 3 letters: "NHS", but as I have said previously, it is far easier to sum their health policy up in 4 letters: "BUPA".
The Tories are not committed to the public services, they resent them, and not only the people that use them, but also the people who work in them. In contrast the Labour Party is the party that gave us the NHS and continues to put in the much needed funding.
I found it almost laughable when I spotted a Tory PPC recently in their Ashcroft funded pamphlets moaning about how their local hospital was not perfect and neither was the local NHS Walk In Centre. Of course, what the propaganda failed to mention was that both the NHS Walk In Centre and the brand new hospital only appeared post 1997 thanks to the massive investment and political will of the Labour Government and the local Labour MP.
The Tories are all hot air when it comes to the NHS. They may spout one thing in public, but deep down, when you scratch the surface, it does not take long for their real feelings to come out. :-/

Lord Mancroft, for all his faults, was after all using the NHS and not going private.
I respect his views as a user of the NHS, far more than those that opt out of a system yet still pontificate over it. For that reason alone, he is entitled to be as critical of the NHS as he likes.
I do not believe he was speaking for the Conservative Party.
