Looking For A Reservationist

Interesting job advert I spotted in the paper the other day looking for someone to be a "reservationist".

Not a job you hear about on a regular basis.

Immediately my mind turned to the possibility that this may be a job with some Native Americans out in the US, but apparently this is the new "in" term for someone who works in a hotel making reservations on bookings.

I thought that used to be called a "receptionist", but what do I know.

I probably wouldn't have wanted that other job at the moment, what with all this travelling I am feeling like a cross between a teepee and a wigwam.

Or should I say, two tents/tense?

No, I thought not. :-/

Receptionists work on the reception desk. Reservations teams are usually located elsewhere - I was called a "reservation agent" when I did the job!
