Hazel's Campaign (HQ) Falls Apart

It seems that it's not just Hazel Blears' campaign that is falling apart at the mo, as it seems her campaign HQ has come out in sympathy.

I am tempted to now make some joke about the "dodgy fabric" of the building, but wouldn't want to remind her of this particular PR disaster earlier in the Deputy Leadership campaign!

The most important thing, clearly, is that everyone in and around that campaign HQ is OK. The reason we can laugh is that no-one seems to have been seriously hurt - apart from possibly a bit of pride.

So to build Hazel's damaged pride up at this time, I'd like to draw your attention to the handwritten note she took the time to send me concerning our mini falling out (see pic above).

I say "mini falling out" because it is impossible to dislike someone as open and honest as Hazel. My bigger problem is that we are not exactly kindred spirits politically.

As I've pointed out before I am backing Jon Cruddas for Deputy Leader, and my second preference is up for grabs between Hazel and Hilary Benn. I want to be honest and say that Hilary is just ahead at the mo.

But fair play to Hazel for responding to my blog post. People appreciate that kind of accessibility and willingness to listen.

Now go rebuild that roof! ;-)

*UPDATE: Yes, obviously I was posting early on in this incident when the BBC was reporting that only one person had suffered minor injuries. Clearly this has turned out to be a more serious incident and our main concern is that everyone gets out OK. Just goes to show you shouldn't always trust the stories/information that the press gives you in this 24 hour rolling news agenda styled world we now live in!*

I think you should have held off the rather predictable jokes for a bit. Right now as I'm writing there's still some poor guy trapped in the building - it's not a laughing matter.

Kerron,

This post is very distasteful. You link a news story which states in its first sentence: "One person has been injured and another man remains trapped." It's not really appropriate to be joking about this considering the scale of the incident.

Sorry Kerron, but a shabby posting at this time.

Oh come on you lot, that's pathetic.

Kerron was obviously posting early on in this news event when all the facts weren't known

"The most important thing, clearly, is that everyone in and around that campaign HQ is OK. The reason we can laugh is that no-one seems to have been seriously hurt"

carry on Kerron, don't let the pc brigade have their way.

more jokes that will upset pc twats greatly appreciated.

I hope that the trapped guy is going to be ok

All this PC posturing aside, this all links in nicely with my theory that there's a contract out on the Divine Ginge's life - http://politicalforce.blogspot.com/2007/06/who-wants-hazel-dead.html

The force is way off. All six of the Deputy Dawg candidates should be in the frame for loosening those nuts on those Akros.

Luke should lighten up. Not that I followed Kerron's lead on this. But he does seem to be giving HB a preference at least one or two above the one she gets from moi.

And what's more I don't think she'll still be there to pick it up if it comes to that.

PS I'm jealous Kerron. Although I've been waking up next to Hazel Blears for two months now ... I don't have a hand written letter from her. Should I be worrying? Boo hoo hoo.

The important thing about all of this that you prattlers seem to have missed completely is that NEITHER CHIPMUNK NOR I WERE IN THE BUILDING AT THE TIME. I mean, we all feel sorry for building workers and all that, but let's get things in perspective. Lotta Continua! O, Draconian devil! Oh, lame saint!

Kerron,

Referring back to a previous post, just think, either you or Gem could have been in the building at the time.

It makes you think doesn't it?

Doesn't it?

I think you will note that I remarked in my original post that the most important thing was that everyone was OK and that no-one was seriously injured. As that is what had been reported.

It subsequently turned out that those media reports were inaccurate. Which is why I have posted the update at the bottom of the post.
