It's Not Big and It's Not Clever...

...but rude place names are quite funny, in a rather schoolboy way.

So well done the Guardian News Blog for this selection.

I have to say that I particularly enjoyed "Beaverlick".

I know it's really childish but Wookey Hole in Somerset always makes me laugh. Something about Chewbacca's naughty bits I suppose.

If it makes anyone laugh, I could tell you about a place just outside Loughborough called Mountsorrel.

That doesn't initially sound that funny until I tell you that I work for the MP for Loughborough and that I used to have a girlfriend called Sorrel.

The funny thing is I actually visited Cockermouth in Cumbria with a load of teenagers on Friday...with a suprisingly small amount of giggling at the name.
